Assist guests in selecting a new or used car for purchase and walking them through the car buying process while providing an excellent guest experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Greets customer and determines make, model, type, and quality of vehicle desired.

Explains features and demonstrates operation of vehicle in showroom or on demonstration drive.

Suggests optional equipment for customer to purchase.

Researches availability of models and optional equipment.

Computes and quotes sales price, including tax, trade-in allowance, and discount.

Completes paperwork accompanying vehicle sales, including but not limited to, preparing sales slip or sales contract.

Arranges for delivery and registration of vehicle.

Proactively engages guests via phone, email or text message to set appointments and to follow up.

Address all guest concerns in a timely manner.

Assist dealership in meeting and exceeding sales goals.

Maintain CSI at or above Company Standard.

Participate in required training.

Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.

Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values.

Records all hours worked accurately in Company timekeeping system.

Follow Safeguards rules and regulations.

Complies with Company policies and procedures.

Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.

Other duties as assigned.

Desired Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Field of Study/Work Experience:


Customer Service


Desired Work Experience:

Up to 3 years.


Prior sales and/or customer service experience desired.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid Driver’s License

Computer Skills:

Basic computing skills including Microsoft Outlook, Web Applications and navigating Company websites.

Communication Skills:

Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and teammates.

Attendance Requirements:

This position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.

Environment Demands:

Due to the nature of the position, the individual may be exposed to various work environments and required to perform a variety of tasks. Duties are performed throughout the premises, both indoors and outdoors and on customer test drives. This may include prolonged periods of standing, walking or sitting. Work includes frequent movement around the company facilities and the outdoor car lot to interact with customers and other departments.

Verbal and Writing Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write notes and guest communications like emails or text messages. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.
