Plans, directs, implements, and oversees human resources policies and activities such as employment, compensation, training, employee relations, and communications with specified dealerships by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.

• Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

• Designs personnel forms and directs the maintenance of personnel records.

• Responsible for Company compliance with Federal and

State legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.

• Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, and/or as directed by the Human Resources Director on personnel matters.

• Works directly with dealership managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.

• Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

• Analyzes trends at specified locations in turnover, hiring, promotions, separations, and grievances to determine support or action needed to adjust unfavorable trends.

• Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.

• Serves as EEO specialist.

• Answers any questions and/or requests by EEOC, ESC, DOL and other governmental agencies, including employee complaints.

• Assists with employee litigation issues, as needed.

• Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations.

• Conducts needs assessment, develops training curriculum and conducts training sessions on various

HR topics.

• Oversees training at each location in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, sexual harassment, and EEO compliance.

• Conducts HR internal audits and recommends necessary adjustments.

• Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and insures Company compliance.

• Manages vendor relationships for departmental related services.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Verbal and Writing Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of management. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations. Ability to effectively present information to top management.

Math Ability: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Certificates and Licenses: PHR or SPHR preferred.

Environment/ Physical Demands: Duties are performed primarily in the management office but extensive interaction with corporate and dealership management and frequent travel are required.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software and Spreadsheet software.
