Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Summary:  Directs and completes implementation set-up activities and delivers training for variable operations initiatives as directed by Hendrick Automotive Group’s Variable Operations department. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This job has no direct supervisory responsibility.

  • Willingness to work shoulder-to-shoulder with dealership associates learning new techniques to use CRM data to identify new/used vehicle sales opportunities in the service drive
  • Work directly with retail customers to support general managers, sales managers, and salespeople in selling more new and pre-owned vehicles (both showroom guests and service-drive clients)
  • Frequently working with CRM tools (eLead CRM and Reynolds Contact Management) and other variable operations technology providers
  • Provides consultation, feedback, guidance, and staff assistance to dealership management to support and increase new and pre-owned vehicles sales.
  • Understands the day-to-day variable operations demands of a franchised dealership and adapts engagement with team accordingly
  • Listens to dealership leadership to better understand organizational structure, existing challenges and helps facilitate solutions based on organizational best practices and industry standards
  • Reasonable understanding of fixed operations activities and how those activities impact variable operations
  • Enjoys the retail sales environment
  • Work effectively with other members of the Hendrick Automotive Group Variable Operations department to properly implement new processes and procedures
  • Fast thinker that can read situations appropriately and handle ambiguity without providing incorrect information
  • Effective presenter that can maintain interest of listeners and communicate detailed information in a clear and concise manner
  • Takes part in the scheduled Hendrick Variable Operations and Hendrick Automotive Group meetings, as needed.

  • Supporting a large geographical area of dealerships and working as part of a larger team to provide a network of support across all aspects of Variable Operations

Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems.  Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge. Technical training or commensurate technical experience.

Certificates and Licenses:

   Valid Driver’s License

o   Automobile Salesperson License

Computer Skills:

Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system.

Communication Skills:

Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.

Attendance Expectations:

The position requires regular and predictable attendance.  Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to (50) pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Environment Demands:

Duties are performed primarily in the service area.  Work includes movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment.  May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions.  Frequently interacts with service advisors and the service manager.

Verbal and Writing Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations. Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.
