Job description: Full Time position at Hendrick Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT - An award-winning MOPAR dealership!
We are seeking an Automotive Parts Counterperson with experience in helping customers find the right parts and solutions for their automotive needs. An ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of automotive diagnostics and vehicle maintenance to be successful in this dynamic dealership position. Familiarity with the Stellantis makes/models is a plus!

Pay Range:
$45,000 per year and above (based on sales performance) - Top Performers Earning $50k plus!
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in identifying and sourcing the correct automotive parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Manage inventory control processes, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and orders are fulfilled promptly.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track parts availability and order history.
- Provide exceptional customer service through effective communication, phone etiquette, and problem-solving skills.
- Engage in retail sales activities, including cashiering, stocking, and marketing promotions to drive sales growth.
- Collaborate with the service department to support automotive repair needs and ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions using Point of Sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Excel for reporting purposes.
- Foster a positive relationship with customers by addressing inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong background in automotive repair and service, with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance.
- Proficient in automotive diagnostics with a solid understanding of parts identification.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory effectively and ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Demonstrated experience in retail sales environment, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
- Familiarity with retail math principles to assist in pricing strategies and inventory assessments.
- Exceptional communication skills that foster positive relationships with customers and team members alike.
- Previous dealership experience is a plus, as it enhances your understanding of the industry.
Attendance Expectations:
The position requires regular and predictable attendance in-person at an automotive dealership. Scheduled shifts are typically 5-days per week and may include evening hours, weekends, and some holidays. Dealership service department hours between 7:00am-7:00pm, Monday - Saturday.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to (30) pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and sit.
Environment Demands:
Duties are performed primarily in the automotive service area. Work includes movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions. Frequently interacts with customers, service advisors and the service manager.
Verbal and Writing Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations. Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.
