Parts Outside Salesperson
Summary: Responsible for selling parts to wholesale customers at the customer’s place of business. Obtain new customers and maintain relationships with existing customers.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Sells to and obtains orders from wholesale parts customers.
- Drives to wholesale parts businesses to obtain new customers.
- Maintains effective customer relationships.
- Places special orders for parts.
- Reads appropriate manuals to ascertain type and specification of part.
- Provides pricing and product information to customers.
- Orders out-of-stock parts requested by customers.
- Meets individual sales and productivity goals.
- Participates in required training.
- Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.
- Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
- Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values
- Complies with Company policies and procedures.
- Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
- Other duties as assigned

Advanced knowledge of automotive parts.
Certificates and Licenses:
√ Valid Driver’s License
o Automobile Salesperson License
Computer Skills:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Working knowledge of the Parts portion of the Dealership Management System and other computer applications to support operations.
Communication Skills:
Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
Attendance Expectations:
The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and some holidays.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; and sit. Must be able to lift to twenty pounds.
Environment Demands:
Duties are performed primarily outside of the dealership calling on wholesale parts businesses. Work includes driving, visiting customers, and moving throughout the dealership parts department. Employee continuously interacts with customers and parts employees.
Verbal and Writing Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with complex situations.
