Hendrick Automotive Group is seeking an experienced Master Technician who is well-versed on vehicle repair diagnostics, inspections, and automotive dealership services for auto/diesel engines (preferably Chrysler or similar manufacturer certifications). An ideal candidate should have prior knowledge in the automotive retail industry and skills that will successfully identify necessary vehicle service to perform a variety of repairs and/or maintenance work.

Pay Range:
Up to $40 per hour and above (based on factors such as Technician level, certifications, and job performance).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul automotive vehicles.
Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly.
Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections.
Inspect and adjust tire pressures, shock absorbers, and other automotive components.
Test and repair brakes, exhaust systems, suspensions, engine components, and other automotive parts.
Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads and wheel bearings.
Use diagnostic tools and special service equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues.
Keep records of customer/vehicle service and repair histories.
Explain diagnostic results and proposed repairs to customers.
Stay up to date on factory technical bulletins and attend educational workshops.
Follow manufacturer’s specifications and safety protocols.
Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.
Education/Experience:
Automotive/Diesel Technology, Vocational/Trade Certificate, High School Diploma or equivalent.
Desired Work Experience: 5 years of direct Auto/Diesel Technician experience preferred (Chrysler certified or similar manufacturer).
ASE certifications is a plus but not mandatory.
Ability to read schematics and technical manuals effectively.
Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Able to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
Certificates and Licenses:
√ Valid Driver’s License
√ Certified/senior technician with respective manufacturer.
√ State inspection/emissions license required by State.
√ All required manufacturer fundamental training and/or NAPA training provided by HAG.
√ Meets and/or exceeds manufacturer requirements for ASE tests.
√ Completed manufacturer training to perform: warranty repairs/recalls on most vehicles, PDI’s, maintenance, and minor repairs.
Computer Skills:
Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system. Ability to learn parts department computer inventory and ordering system.
Communication Skills:
Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
Attendance Expectations:
The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to (50) pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Environment Demands:
Duties are performed primarily in the service area. Work includes movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions. Frequently interacts with customers, service advisors and the service manager.
Verbal and Writing Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations. Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.
