Senior Tax Accountant
TITLE: Senior Tax Accountant
REPORTS TO: Tax Director and Manager
MAIN FUNCTION: The Senior Tax Accountant is primarily responsible for the preparation and/or review of federal and state compliance work
SAMPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and/or prepare federal and state income tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C-corporations, trusts and individuals.
- Review and/or prepare LIFO calculations for all dealerships.
- Review fixed asset schedules for depreciation for all dealerships.
- Review various year end tax calculations such as computation of demo wages.
- Respond to state and federal tax notices on behalf of our dealerships.
- Assist in gathering information for tax audits.
- Assist office managers with any tax questions they may have.
- Research federal, state and local tax issues
- Responsible for the mentoring of staff
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-Year accounting degree
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to be a “Team Player”
- Ability to handle pressure.
- Handle directions with minimal supervision
- 5-10 years experience in the preparation/review of tax returns
- Working knowledge of applicable tax law and regulations
- Proficient computer skills and understanding of spreadsheet applications.
- Experience in Prosystem Tax and Prosystem Engagement is a plus.
